Class sizes will be limited. Be sure to register early! Registration for Spring. QAA offers adult and children’s classes three times a year, as well as discounts on exhibits and entry fees to all members.

The Ability to draw is a learned skill. That ability is directly related to one's observational skills. Being able to see the basic structure of all objects is the first step. Composition, value studies, line, texture and color will broaden their understanding of the drawing process. This class can accommodate both beginner and intermediate levels with lots of one-on one instruction.

Sculpt or paint the nude model over an extended course! Thorough instruction in natural clay figure sculpture will be offered to include armature preparation, proportioning, anatomical reference, discussion of the lessons of the treat masters, step by step demonstrations, and finishing a piece for exhibit
(firing, patina and mounting)
Absolute beginners in sculpture are encouraged to try this especially 2D artists who would like to experiment with a new medium to inform their work.

Clay Portrait Sculpture

Learn how to make an accurate sculpture portrait likeness from natural clay! Sculpting from a live model and a planar representation of the head, the process of attaining a 3 dimensional likeness will be demonstrated and practiced.

Each artist will end up with his own life size portrait head of the model. We will prepare each piece for firing in a kiln. Patina and surface treatment will be discussed. Take this class first then try your own grandchildren or your own version of Mt. Rushmore. For all ability levels.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

REGISTER EARLY-It is helpful to register early so we can tell if there are sufficient numbers to conduct a class. Class sizes are limited, so register early. Registration along with payment in full must be received no later than 7 days prior to the first class .due to scheduling and book keeping.  Our classes have limited enrollment and fill quickly.  So act now to avoid disappointment. All classes must meet minimum enrollment. Dates of workshops may change. Bring materials to first class. Please call to get materials list. Registration form.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Refunds will be granted up to 14 days before a class or workshop begins. A $15 non-refundable registration fee is included in the tuition. Tuition and fees will not be refunded for any reason after the 14- day period. This policy is strictly enforced If there is insufficient enrollment in any class or workshop, students will be notified and will receive a full refund.

MAKE-UP CLASSES-Make-up classes will be scheduled at the end of the session for classes missed due to school closing because of inclement weather.

CONFIRMATION
We do not send written confirmation, but we will notify you if there is a problem with your registration or changes that you should know about or cancellations of classes.  If a class is canceled, your check will be returned within a week of the cancellation. A teacher who postpones a class due to some emergency will notify students. There will be a make- up date in the event of a weather cancellation or teacher postponement

PHOTOGRAPHS-Occasionally, the QAA will take photos of course participants during classes for our advertising. If you have any objections to the use of photos of you or your child, please notify the QAA office before the course begins

CHILDREN NEED TO BE PICKED UP ON TIME AT THE END OF THE CLASS.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
